I’m the type of person who likes to write my lesson plans on paper. It helps me organize my thoughts and makes me focus on what needs to be learned. Today I am excited to share with you my new weekly homeschool plan that I will be using with my 4 year old this school year!

I like to plan my week on Sunday and gather everything I need for my lessons that week. Here’s a look at what the paper looks like. Here’s what we do for these topics:

Many of my preschool moms ask me how to do this, especially if you only have one child to homeschool. I think circle time is a great way to start a preschool day. It will become a habit and help the child understand that this is how the school day starts. If you have older children who are homeschooled, this is a great way to do everything together. I always recommend doing a period cycle if you only have one baby.

I like to add a morning message idea like this to pages before school. If you want to read more about circuit timing, I recommend reading this article on 10 circuit timing tips.

Language arts covers the areas of listening, reading, writing, and speaking. For younger children, this means doing activities that use the alphabet, listening skills, phonics, rhyming words, and handwriting.

Kindergarten math includes numbers, colors, patterns, number recognition, letters and numbers, shapes, addition, pictures, money, ordering, matching, and subtraction. .

I love doing preschool science experiments and activities. We do one math or science activity on the first day of school.

Emotional exploration is important for young children. Sensory boxes are a great way to do this. You can make sensory bottles or other activities that engage the senses.

I do arts or crafts about 3 times a week. Process photography is an open art. No finished product, every picture is created by your preschooler!

These are the topics I am planning. I also realize how much time we spend playing outside, doing educational games, school trips and reading lots of books! I know that if I plan our week around these topics, I will feel better. (You’ll notice in the picture above that we’re not talking about regular school on Wednesdays. It’s up to you how many days you plan to go to school. I suggest 2-4 each. this week with preschoolers.)

I would like to share some sample courses for ages 2, 3 and 4-5. Two year olds are too young to start elementary school, so I only do one activity with them (whether it’s alphabet or math). Here’s how the time goes:

Welcome! Today I’m excited to share that I’ve added a few new sets of flashcards to my store that are perfect for use in a kid’s calendar, morning chart, on their own as flashcards, or playing. There are so many fun things you can do with these cards! All cards are designed to go along with my free DIY kids calendar. Hope it’s useful for all of us homeschoolers right now 🙂

The first set is a preschool educational calendar card set. This new set of cards includes numbers, shapes, colors and alphabet cards. They work great as fun or work cards but are also perfect for calendar time. Add a new letter, number, style and color every day or every week.

You can see the alphabet cards! This has been a free post on my blog for a few years now. I put them in this group for simplicity but I didn’t put them in price tags. Only number, shape, and color cards in this set plus alphabet cards!

Among my favorite things about this card deck are the picture number cards! They are good for counting by one letter and giving a good overview of the numbers. It has beautiful and colorful pictures in the same style as my other calendar cards.
