I hate to say it, especially since I’ve been known to dabble in calligraphy once or twice, but hiring a professional calligrapher to address your wedding invitations is a waste of money. For $3+ an envelope, why not put away your credit card and create an envelope template (or get our free A7 envelope template!) that you can print at home. Make as many copies as you need, then reuse that baby to work on thank you notes, holiday cards, and more.
Just follow this guide and you’ll never have to hand in another envelope for as long as you both live.
While most word processors give you an “envelope” option, I’ve found that it tends to be chunky and basic. While it’s fine for business printing, it’s definitely not what you want for wedding envelopes or a fancy office.
I hope you’ve figured this out by now, but you need to know exactly what your envelopes are (in inches or centimeters) with the lid closed. If you can’t find this information on the package, just get out a ruler and measure.

We recommend 5.25″x7.25″ A7 envelopes for our invitations, but this may vary depending on the size of your invitations. If you’re not sure what size envelopes you need, this handy chart can help you choose the right ones.
Go to Layout > Size > Other Paper Sizes. Enter the envelope size in the Width and Height fields and click OK.
Go to Insert > Text Box > Draw Text Box. Draw a text box in the center of your document, making sure to leave enough room for postage stamps and a return address at the top.
To remove the black outline around the text box, click the text box and go to Format > Shape Outline > No Outline.

Once you’ve added your first text box, just click on the outer border so there’s a solid black line around it, then press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to duplicate it. I prefer to create a text box for each text style (ie calligraphy names get one box, while serif addresses get a separate box).
One of the reasons we don’t use the envelope feature already in Word is that it allows us to use custom fonts, graphics, and layouts.
I think envelopes look best with a combination of calligraphy, sans serif and serif fonts. But that depends on you. Ideally, you might want to choose 1-2 fonts that match your wedding invitations so that everything looks uniform.

How To Print An Envelope In Google Docs?
In a completely new document. When printing, print the front of the envelopes first, then turn them over and print the back.
Once your model looks exactly how you want it, you’ll want to duplicate the pages so you can print several at once.
To copy your page, click on the gray margin outside the page. This will highlight your text boxes.
Inside the text box. You should see a blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the page. Press End on your keyboard (this will add blank pages after the existing page).
How To Address Your Wedding Invitations
Go to Insert > Blank Page. Click about 15-20 times to add more pages. (I recommend making no more than 25 pages per document. If you overdo it, your Word document will get stuck and it will be difficult to get it stuck and collapsed.)
If you’re not familiar with direct mail, it’s easiest to manually copy and paste your addresses. I know from experience that it only takes about 20 minutes to copy over 100 envelopes, which is about the time it would take you to fix your mail merge problems.
Alternatively, you can search Google for mailing instructions based on your software version and operating system.
Load several envelopes into the paper tray of your printer. (If yours has one, I’d use the rear input tray instead of the bottom paper cassette. If you don’t have one, don’t panic.)

Make sure you enter a custom paper size in your print settings or whatever you do it won’t print correctly. Then go back to print preview and make sure the text is the right size, centered, and nothing is cut off.
