When many of us are just entering high school, we wish we had a skip button for that stage, but now I wish there was a rewind button. I can’t believe this school journey is over. We don’t need awards or trophies to prove that we have something special. We are all gifted and should be congratulated. We made a lot of mistakes during our school days. Besides stealing someone’s boyfriend or girlfriend. Let’s leave it at that. But the truth is that our mistakes are just as important as our successes. Therefore, let’s not strive to be perfect. Instead, it’s better to have flaws. So thank you, parents and teachers, for allowing us to make mistakes. Thank you for shaping us into the imperfect beings that we are. I may not learn from all my mistakes, but they make me grow. 10 hours and 3 speeches later, I learned that giving the graduation speech was probably not the best choice. But again, I’m killing it now. Teachers, thank you for the sacrifices you made for all of us students and for understanding that being first in line is not a matter of life or death. But most of all, thank you for understanding that our dog can eat anything from homework to errands.

Entering gymnasium as freshmen, we did not know who we were. What is our true identity. We will be in the eyes of others. We’ve spent the last 17-18 years of our lives finding ourselves anyway, it’s not something you can find on Google. Well, you can google it, but turn on safe search first. No one is talking about your decision. I thank you for helping us find the answer to the question of who we are. Teachers, you make all parts of our earth laugh and all our heavens cry. We all have scars, we all have pieces. But the beauty is when it all comes together to create you. You are about to open a new chapter in your book. Can we turn the page together? You are ready for anything that life throws at you. We are old enough to make our own decisions. Old enough to be an example to the young. Old enough to handle any life situation.

Of The Best Commencement Speeches Of 2018

We are the class of 2020 and we will leave this world better than we found it. I never knew that one day I would create the ultimate set of memories with friends in my spare time. One day I will have lunch in the cafeteria for the last time. One day the memories will fade until I find an old photo that reminds me of him. One day I will lock my locker and leave the school for the last time. One day I won’t be in high school because I’ll be ready to go. It is a universal truth that we must all face that nothing lasts forever. Nothing is eternal. As much as I love new beginnings, I always hate endings. It is hard to say goodbye to the atmosphere in which we are so comfortable, but the end is inevitable. As they say, “the leaves fall and you close the book.” I won’t miss getting to school early or the hallways between classes. But what I will miss is people. In 5 years we don’t know where we will be because we are not in control of our destiny but we are in control. It’s sad to leave it all behind, but it’s nice to know that new opportunities have opened up.

I want to wish all of you grads of 2020 to chase your dreams and never give up on what you think you can’t do. After high school, we will all be separated and we don’t know if we will meet again. However, I am glad to know that each of you is capable of achieving anything you desire. I don’t know where life will take you, but I’m sure it will be an amazing place.

Good evening classmates, teachers and administrators. My name is Hara Nekanti and I stand before you as a graduate of Kleinburg Public School and a resident of Kleinburg. No matter how much comfort and gratitude I express to these teachers, staff, and even my classmates, it will never be enough. Graduation is one of the most important parts of life because it fills an empty chapter in the book of my life, so it can stay with me forever in the form of memories and more. This evening is not only about graduation, but also about acknowledging the achievements of the past and beginning the next, no matter how hard the struggle.

Being with my family definitely helped me become who I am today. Encouragement is one of the many good things they have done for me. They encouraged me to study harder when I didn’t want to and pushed me to pursue my aspirations and dreams. Kleinburg Public School is no ordinary school, it is a school that everyone loves and is filled with many years of memories. Although this is my first school year here, there are already many great memories to be cherished. Participating in the many clubs at this school and being active on the sports team really shows how much love this school has. I want to give a special thanks to Miss Anila for putting up with my nonsense all year and not sending me to the office when needed. That’s where my next point is persistence and respect. Persistence and respect are two things I have learned to follow and use throughout the year. One of my favorite quotes is “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” – Steve Jobs. I stick with this quote because it ties in with another quote “don’t be a follower, be a leader” which tells you to be who you want to be and make your own path, not someone else’s.

The art of listening and being inclusive are two things I have yet to master. Listening is the key to everything in class, outside of class, in sports and so on. For all sports fans, when there are 5 seconds left to decide the game winner, the coach will call a timeout to tell you the play, but you have to listen to make the game easier. Even if you are not interested in what you are studying, listening is the key to your future success. There are always people yelling at each other about who gets the basketball court at halftime, but when we’re all playing together, there’s no problem. This is one thing that everyone should improve in their life. We need to stop seeing each other as different people and see each other as a whole. We are all one, and as long as we remain one, nothing can break us.

Finally, I express my great gratitude to Ms. Anila, Mr. Herbert, Ms. Mishchenko, Mr. Marandas, guardians, staff and everyone for giving me joy this year. This noble man helped me to build on my mistakes and become a leader in my own way. There is also a lot of credit to my friends for not changing me as a person and staying true to yourself by being the person you are. All in all, this year has been full of ups and downs and I will never forget this year in my life.
