Lesson Plan Course Title: Cosmetology ISession Title: Permanent Wave CuttingObjectiveOutcome: Upon completion of this activity, the student will be able to properly cut hair for a permanent wave service according to the guidelines of the Texas Cosmetology Commission. Specific objectives: 1. Define terms related to education 2. Show how to use a mirror as an aid to separating parts. 3. Demonstrate placing the stick in the center of the nose. 4. Show how to use lines/dots and separate some parts with a rat tail comb.5. Show how to divide the nape. 6. Show the front panels.7. Show the middle backs.8. To compare fronts, show the distribution of others. 9. Show how to measure with a perm stick. 10. Complete the vertical part of the infinite wave. Show the students a “permian rod” and describe the length of the segments that must be within its length. A. Show students the lines and dots at each end of the stick B. Explain that lines and dots should be used when dividing. II. Demonstrate how to use a mirror as an aid in separating parts. III. Demonstrate placing the stick in the center of the nose. A. Place the stick over your nose, making sure to use a mirror to check. IV. Illustrate using lines/dots and separate some parts with a rat tail comb. A. Make the first split and check the mirror for accuracy. B. With a perm rod, make the 1st section and then the second section. Look in the mirror for accuracy. C. Explain that this section continues to the nape of the neck. D. Remind students that all hair ends must be inserted into the jaw clamp. A. Show how to divide the nape of the neck. A. Explain to students that the occiput is the point between the back of the neck and the back. B. Explain that the middle part should hold the long rod. C. Specify that the lateral parts of the nape hold the short rod. VI. Show the front. A. Show students how to use a ruler to measure sides. B. Explain that the front edges must end behind the ear. VII. Show the middle backs. A. Explain to students that the bar must be horizontal. B. Explain to the students that the separation of the occiput is the occipital bone. 1.
