Pitching a session idea to a conference can be intimidating, but presenting at a conference or hosting a workshop is incredibly rewarding. We want to make it easier to apply this year and invite you to attend one of our free webinars. We’ll walk you through the process and share tips and inspiration to help you submit your best session proposals by the November 2nd deadline.

You can join the call every Tuesday from October 19, 26 to November 2 at 12:30 CEST/CET. Each webinar will last 30 minutes.
Call For Presentations & Proposals: 2013 Student Leadership Conference
The webinar will be led by Viktar Hajewski, who is responsible for next year’s conference and the “speaker of the series”. He will be joined each week by special guests from the Conference Program Committee, the panel of experts who determine which sessions will be selected from the call. You can ask them what they are looking for, especially for the 2022 edition, and get valuable tips and advice. You have decided who your class is for: people with problems. You got the results. Time to write an abstract.
Proposals always include a brief abstract. Some conferences, such as the Agile 20xx conferences, have “Information for the Software Team”. You can think of it as an offer or more information about what you are offering. I will get back to you later.
You can think of conference attendees as your audience. They are and are
Listeners. Your first audience is the program committee. You should include supervisors, observers, etc. in your meeting. maybe I invite all these gatekeepers to the program committee.
Session Proposal: Received
I attended many conferences. I often read “summaries” that are four, five, or six paragraphs of jumbled language. Not only does the language confuse me, I can’t articulate what I will be studying in the paper.
If you read my blog posts, you will see that I use the word “Awesome” a lot. OSS helps create context for the reader. So I use OSS for articles, short book reviews, and anything else I write in longer form.
I don’t remember now how or when I discovered Kent Beck’s amazing quote, but I’m glad I did.
As a first draft, it’s not bad. Yes, there are two sentences for the second sentence. Because there are organizational, and project, individual tasks. I still don’t know how to put this sentence together. I hope people will come forward with a project or personal questions. If I’m lucky, the two problems will come together.

You may be wondering – can I use this speech as an abstract from the last time I gave it? I was able to do it. I choose not to until I reach a point where I don’t think I can improve in the abstract.
Looking back at the past times I’ve given this talk, the abstract has changed each time. Although the slides do not change much, I often work abstractly to make the abstract more attractive. (Yes, I will review my thesis next time after class.)
Sometimes, especially when I’m a guest speaker, only one name is required at conferences. I’m lazy and don’t write abstracts or update.
I don’t remember when I learned this approach to discoveries. A colleague who likes to write explained it to me. He had already learned this from Gerald M. Weinberg.

Hey! attracts the reader’s attention. It can be a sentence or a thought, but readers need to see it in the first two sentences for the reader to keep reading.
You! How does this idea affect the reader? What is important to the reader in this post?
Do you see An example is an author section that helps the reader see what the author is talking about.
So what do you want the reader to do with it after reading the piece?

Remember that as part of the offer you made a list of people you wanted to attract? These are the “Hey” and “You” parts.
You can approach thesis writing in a different way. Regardless of your focus, consider keeping your abstracts to a single paragraph.
Sometimes I add more paragraphs to the abstract to support the first paragraph. Some conferences like Agile 20xx or PMI conferences prefer to read more in the form of abstracts. They want more information because they are getting a lot of offers.
I saw something important. The audience for these additional remarks is rarely the conference audience. The audience is almost always the program committee.

You can add more details so that you can demonstrate your authority and knowledge of the topic.
As I add more paragraphs, I start with the problems and add more information. Here’s how to add supporting material after the first paragraph:
Multitasking permeates every organization. If you don’t measure multi-stage costs, including cycle time, you can’t understand how much trying to do “everything” costs an individual, a team, and an organization.

You can measure these costs in a number of ways: create a cost flow map, calculate the cost of an overnight stay, and measure your team’s lead time.
Better yet, if you’ve created a board, and I’m going to show examples of simple boards, you can shed some light on the problem. Since not everyone believes in calculating cost, you may have more success with boards.
Armed with data, you can discuss what to do, what to give up for now, and what to never do. There’s no need for a career-limiting conversation. You can conduct interviews and create win-win outcomes for you, the project and the organization.
I try really hard to keep my reading above 65 and my level is close to 6. Yes, I understand that anyone who reads the conference papers is smart and has done some work. I’m working on reading to make sure I’m inviting them to my posts. Why should the program committee work so hard to read my text?

Revise the outline until you have four sentences without the passive voice, a reading score of 60 or higher, and a 6th grade level.
When I checked the abstract for readability, Word gave it a readability score of 70 and a rating of 6.7. Grammarly gave it a readability score of 75 and a score of 7. That’s good enough, at least for now.
